The conference will be organized in a hybrid format on June 9, 2023. This will be the fourth and final scientific conference organized within the project „Georgia and Korea: Parallels in the Historical Experience of Colonialism, Struggle for Independence, Liberation and State Building”.
Since Korea and Georgia established diplomatic relations in 1992, the two countries have steadily expanded their economic, cultural, and political ties.
The conference “Korea and Georgia: Fostering Future Connections”, which is part of the project “Georgia and Korea: Parallels in the Historical Experience of Colonialism, Struggle for Independence, Liberation and State Building”, sponsored by the Academy of Korean Studies, Republic of Korea, seeks to deepen and enrich this relationship by bringing together scholars and experts from various fields to discuss the historical and contemporary connections between the two nations.
We invite submissions of papers that explore various aspects of Korea-Georgia relations, such as trade and investment, academic and cultural exchange, historical and contemporary diplomacy, security, and regional integration. We encourage interdisciplinary perspectives and welcome submissions from scholars in the fields of education, history, political science, economics, sociology, cultural studies, international relations, etc.

Language: English (20 min presentation, 10 min discussion)
All papers will be compiled and published in a compilation with an ISBN.
Full papers should be submitted by email before June 10, 2023.
